I only talk to myself because it's cold.

I was going to bake you something yummy. I was going to make you something crafty. I was going to ask you to join me as I daydream about Spring, warmer weather, and pretty gardens. But then I went shopping... for me. You're welcome.

Since I was a scheduling genius (mwahahaha), or an evil genius?, this semester I planned it so I did not have one single class on a Thursday or Friday. Can you say four day weekend EVERY WEEKEND?! Woop woop. But contrary to popular belief, that long of a weekend every week can sometimes seem a little long? No? Really, trust me. That's why I pulled on my pretty Sorels** (life saving boots, necessary for city living) and hit the streets. I was not going to just sit in my apartment when the sun decided to actually come out today. Hi Sun!!

So I walked. No direction in mind, just bopping in and out of stores hoping everything I liked was magically going to show up on Sunday wrapped all pretty with Happy Birthday Molly! written on the gift tag. A girl can dream. But I charged on, quite literally... then my debit card began to smoke. That was when I knew it was time to head home.

Time out. Can we talk about something that I've recently starting doing? I've started to talk on the phone through my head phones, phone in pocket no where to be seen. I think it's the weirdest thing ever, but it really is so convenient! I have a 25 minute walk to school each day and then have to walk it home after, so you can bet that's when I have time to call my parents, J, and Bank of America to explain the charge on my credit card was an extreme emergency (Dad, I'm kidding!). But now that the weather is so so so cold it is utterly impossible to hold the phone to my face. So now I just talk, to no one-- or so it looks. Last night while talking to my Dad, I made eye contact with a man on the corner as I was chatting away, giggling, and probably saying something along the lines of, "You are such a loser." (You should never talk to your parents like that, very disrespectful.) Luckily he quickly caught on to the fact that I was not having a conversation with myself and calling him a loser. Awkward. As much as I hate the whole hands free talking, it really is fantastic. Give it a try. Give it a try when you are having the most animated conversation of your life. That makes it more fun.

Alright, so I know you are DYING to see what I bought for you me. I think it's pretty and casual, which is what my style has morphed into. Comfort, quality, and the ability to look effortless is sort of what I go for-- but obviously it has to be pretty too!

My favorite thing is probably the knit cardigan that I paired with the army green cargo jacket. Both are oversized and flowy, my favorite! The printed pants in the top right corner have a fun feather-like print and are finished with a big bow (you can never go wrong with a bow). And lastly, the Guess booties I purchased a couple of weeks ago for an interview. But as I was buying this outfit, I knew they would work perfectly!

Hope you have a wonderful rest of the week! If you don't mind I'm going to go enjoy the first day of my weekend. (:

** No, sadly Sorel did not pay me to mention their name on my wildly popular blog. But just as an FYI for Sorel, I am sponsor-free at the moment! I'll endorse you in every post, even during the hell-ish fires of summer if you're interested. ;)

... I definitely think they will get that message. Definitely.
