Sundays.

Sundays. There's something about a Sunday. Let's chat about it for a second, shall we?

I really love Sundays. Always have. Sundays growing up were a family day. We'd head to church in the morning, grab a late breakfast... early lunch... also known as brunch (duh), and then spend the day doing whatever seemed right. Sometimes lazy days, sometimes days packed with fun activities. Either way I always remember enjoying Sunday.

Now that I don't live at home anymore, Sundays take on a bit of a different meaning. Since moving here I haven't really found a church that I love, so I am missing that part of my "typical Sunday" ideal. However, until I do,  I find my Sundays have turned into a day for wandering; in all senses.

I find myself wandering through the past week. Replaying the good, the bad, the ugly. Things I could have said differently, done differently, ways I could've acted differently. I don't do this to harp on the past and on things I cannot change, I do so so that if mistakes were made they won't be made again and if I managed to do something I'm proud of, I'll be able to recognize another opportunity as it comes.

I also wander forward into the coming week. I prioritize what has to be done and what I would like to get done. I make plans and prepare myself for all that the Monday through Friday has in store.

But the wandering doesn't stay local. As I quite literally wander the streets of Manhattan on Sunday afternoons, in and out of stores, past restaurants, bakeries, and coffee shops of all shapes and sizes, I see so many different things that send my mind wandering way back in the past. Said bakeries always conjure up sweet, sweet memories like my dear Great Aunt Ev and her significant other, Bob, walking up the front walk with bags of freshly made doughnuts from the local store in hand. We'd sit at our large oak kitchen table and giggle over silly stories while sending our sweet teeth into a sugar heaven. I'd eat my Boston Cream doughnut with a spoon. Mark my words, best way to eat it.

Sundays have also become my day of daydreaming. I'm a Pinterest addict and that has only lead to the inflaming of my dreams for the future. I spend parts of my Sundays pinning ideas of what I hope my life will be. Beautiful places I want to travel, a cozy home to imagine, a whimsical wedding to plan (but don't worry, the save the dates won't be sent out for a VERY long time! Right, Mom?), and even further off children to dress. One of my favorite things to do is peruse through my own Pinterest boards. I wish I could just curl up and live inside of them forever. Weird, I know. But they're so beautiful and the best of all the boards in Pinterest-land. Obviously I'm biased... I did hand-pick each and every pin on there (each of the 7,500 pins on there!! Told you I'm an addict!)

No matter where I wander--  into the past, into the future, or through stores of the present-- I try to take a little inspiration from it all. I hope for my Sunday Series to become a compilation of sources of inspiration from all over. It may be links to other parts of the Internet that I found interesting, stories from my past week, hopes I have for the coming week, or something I saw that I wanted to share. I hope this sounds like a good plan to you too!

Sorry for such a heavily worded post, I promise Sundays won't become your day of reading novels written by Molly!

Before you go though, for the first of the Sunday Series I just wanted to share this glimpse into Spring! I visited my favorite Free People store on Fifth Avenue this afternoon and almost fell over when I stepped inside. This, with the very warm weather (compared to the usual Polar Vortex temps!), I swear I could hear birds chirping and smell that amazing Spring smell! Please come soon Spring!

I'm a little URBN obsessed, but I'll explain that another time!

-xoxo
